One Foot In Front Of The Other: diptych

£1,100.00

Size – 2 panels, each 70 x 50cm
[canvas depth - 4.5cm]

Original abstract artwork
Acrylic and oil stick, on canvas

This piece forms part of the Clearing collection. When I created this work I was thinking of exploring a forest, peering through gaps in trees and thickets to see the never-ending growth beyond. Woodland to me is like a natural theatre – with each layer of greenery providing a stage-like backdrop to the last. Shadowy overgrowth provides sanctuary, whilst sunlit clearings connect us to the sky above. The lush green tones and organic shapes of plants are like a tonic for the soul: vibrant, yet undeniably calming. The British wild flora which I have the pleasure of seeing every day will always be an inspiration to me.
