Imogen Webb chosen as runner up in 2024 Blunden Prize

I am honoured to have been selected as one of the finalists in this year’s Blunden Prize, against very stiff competition!

The Blunden Prize is a nationwide public art competition organised by Stonewater, an affordable housing developer. The competition seeks proposals for a public art installation for one of their developments. The 2024 competition focused on a large site in Coventry.

My proposal for the Coventry site was to create abstract paintings inspired by the local area, and digitally print them onto glass panels.

The result being a contemporary, coloured glass installation, which shines brightly by day and is up-lit to emit a welcoming glow by night.

As a runner up, I receive a commission from Stonewater to deliver a similar installation on one of their other sites – details to follow in due course.

To deliver this project, I will be working closely with renowned glass expert Andrew Moor (a big thank you to Andrew for all his input so far. I am delighted to be working together!).

The installation will be exciting and engaging, and I hope that residents will enjoy interacting with my art.

I would like to thank everyone involved for this opportunity. I look forward to working with the Stonewater team to bring public art to one of their schemes.
